This is a moment of great pride for me, Celia Karina San Felipe, and for all the poets with whom I have had the privilege of collaborating. It is an incredible honor to be here tonight to receive this award as an "International Latino Book Award-Winning Author," on behalf of "Crisol de almas 2025" and the entire team at Scriba NYC Soluciones Lingüísticas Integradas.
This award is a testament to the power of poetry and the excellence we achieve when we work together. Each of us, from "Crisol de almas 2025," to "Vivas las queremos 2024," and "Di lo que quieres decir 2019," has poured our heart and soul into these works. It's a celebration of our hard work, our creativity, and the beauty we are capable of creating as a team. This is our third award International Latino Book Award-Winning Author, a constant achievement that demonstrates the quality of our work.
While I am here celebrating, I am also engaged in a personal struggle. I am fighting against disability discrimination in job applications. Although this award highlights my excellence as a poet, and my place as a lesbian poet, it also reveals a painful truth: excellence does not always translate into paid job opportunities. This award is a light that shows the quality of my work and that of my team, and I am proud to be a lesbian poet who publishes with Scriba NYC.
My goal in sharing this is not to diminish the joy of this evening, but to break the cycle of discrimination. I need people in Washington D.C. and throughout the United States to see me. I want them to see that I am a valuable collaborator, that what I do, I do well as a team. It's time for society, and especially employers, to value excellence and talent above prejudice.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us: my fellow poets, to Patricia, to the publishing house, to the readers of our minimalist poems, and to all of you who are here. Let's celebrate this achievement together, and at the same time, let's work to create a world where intersectionality and work together are the metrics for job opportunities.

Es un honor increíble estar aquí esta noche para recibir este premio como "International Latino Book Award-Winning Author", en nombre de "Crisol de almas 2025" y de todo el equipo de Scriba NYC Soluciones Lingüísticas Integradas. Este es un momento de gran orgullo para mí, Celia Karina San Felipe, y para todos los poetas con los que he tenido el privilegio de colaborar.
Este premio es un testimonio del poder de la poesía y de la excelencia que logramos cuando trabajamos juntos. Cada uno de nosotros, en "Crisol de almas 2025", en "Vivas las queremos 2024", y en "Di lo que quieres decir 2019", hemos vertido nuestro corazón y alma en estas obras. Es una celebración de nuestro arduo trabajo, de nuestra creatividad y de la belleza de la que somos capaces de crear en equipo. Este es nuestro tercer premio " International Latino Book Award-Winning Author", un logro que demuestra la calidad de nuestro trabajo constante.
Mientras estoy aquí, celebrando, también estoy en una lucha personal. Estoy luchando contra la discriminación por discapacidad en las solicitudes de empleo. Aunque este premio visualiza mi excelencia como poeta y mi lugar como poeta lesbiana, también pone de manifiesto una verdad dolorosa: la excelencia no siempre se traduce en oportunidades laborales remuneradas. Este premio es una luz que muestra la calidad de mi trabajo y el de mi equipo, y estoy orgullosa de ser una poeta lesbiana que publica con Scriba NYC de Patricia Schaefer Röder.
Mi objetivo al compartir este mensaje, no es disminuir la alegría de esta noche, sino romper el círculo de la discriminación. Necesito que la gente en Washington D.C. y en Estados Unidos me vea. Quiero que vean que soy una colaboradora valiosa, que lo que hago, lo hago bien en equipo. Es el momento de que la sociedad, y en particular los empleadores, valoren la excelencia y el talento por encima de los prejuicios.
Gracias a todos los que nos han apoyado: a mis colegas poetas, a Patricia, a la editorial, a los lectores de nuestras poesías minimalistas y a todos ustedes que están aquí. Celebremos juntos este logro y, al mismo tiempo, trabajemos para crear un mundo donde la interseccionalidad y el trabajo juntos sean métricas de posibilidades para las oportunidades de empleo.
